There is much interest in products that are cloud-first or cloud-native, especially if they support multi-cloud environments, said Anshu Gupta, investor, Silicon Valley CISO Investments.
"Companies are not buying only AWS. They're also buying Azure and GCP for specific use cases. Maybe they need BigQuery in GCP," Gupta said.
Gupta is also seeing much interest in companies that are developing AI/ML models to harness large data sets - and developing back-end technologies to support them. Areas ripe for this technology include those with "a heavy element of human interactions, either in terms of SOC analysts or compliance professionals," he said.
In this video interview with Information Security Media Group at RSA Conference 2023, Gupta also discusses:
- Investment sentiment for cybersecurity;
- Security domains in high demand for investment;
- Exit options for troubled startups.
Gupta has extensive experience in mitigating security incidents and dealing with global threat actors. Over 20 years, he has worked at startups, SaaS and e-commerce companies along with the Big 4, and delivered security and compliance advisory services to Fortune 500 companies.
