It's a young practice but, globally, cyber insurance is starting to exert its influence with some of the largest enterprises - and in some of the most notable cyberattacks. John Pescatore of SANS Institute discusses questions that cybersecurity leaders need to ask before acquiring new policies.

In a video interview with Information Security Media Group as part of its RSA Conference 2021 coverage, Pescatore discusses:

Pescatore, who has 35 years of experience in security, joined SANS in 2013. He was Gartner’s lead security analyst for more than 13 years. Prior to Gartner, he was senior consultant for Entrust Technologies and Trusted Information Systems, where he started, grew and managed security consulting groups. Prior to that, he spent 11 years with GTE, developing secure computing and telecommunications systems. Pescatore began his career at the National Security Agency and the United States Secret Service, where he developed secure communications and surveillance systems.
