"We create a culture in the C-level management, emphasizing security as a shared responsibility," Galho said. His approach integrates security throughout the project lifecycle, from code audits to continuous monitoring, ensuring AI and technology innovations align with security protocols.

Addressing the challenges of collaboration and accountability, he said, “We focus on transparency, inspection and adaptation, encouraging open communication - so that security concerns are not just addressed but embraced at every level.” Galho also highlighted the importance of keeping pace with evolving threats, stressing that "continuous long-life learning" is vital in cybersecurity.

"My advice is to stay curious and continuously seek knowledge," Galho said, pointing to communication skills and collaboration as critical for security leaders. "Building strong communication skills is essential to articulate security concerns effectively and collaborate with other departments. It’s also crucial to develop a deep understanding of not just technical aspects but of the business core itself."

In this video interview with Information Security Media Group, conducted as part of CyberEdBoard's ongoing Profiles in Leadership series, Galho also discussed:

  • Integrating cybersecurity into digital and AI transformations to ensure a secure-by-design approach;
  • Building a security-first culture by fostering shared responsibility and transparent communication across all levels;
  • Emphasizing continuous learning and adaptation to keep pace with evolving cybersecurity threats and innovations.

Galho has more than 30 years of experience as a strategic CIO and CTO, specializing in digital transformation, mergers and acquisitions, cultural change, and technology modernization across financial services, consulting and private pension sectors. An enthusiast for knowledge and innovation, he regularly attends global events to assess trends, such as the Gartner Symposium, Oracle Vision, EBC Microsoft and Atlassian Summit. He brings extensive experience in adapting cultures to build agile, customer-centric organizations, co-creating service models and systems to democratize access to information and enhance user engagement. He is a CyberEdBoard member.
